Captured

Something about the look in your eyes,

a gentle reminder, it's all worth the fight.
Something was noticed, the light was just right,

a gentle reminder, that I'm still alive.

All but at once, I had not yet seen,

a love so profound, a place so serene.
Discovering all and to be desired,

a race of emotion, my life to retire.

Movements to echo, a resonating thought,

like nothing before, a heart had been caught.

a rescue of one, a saving by grace.

To Fall In Love

To fall in love with the insecurities,

the obsessions, to please those who matter.
The need to feel loved, a frivolous nature,

with over active tear ducts to pique.

To fall in love with the troubled past,

the individual hopes and dreams.

The self aversion and imperfections,

perception: unworthy of love.

To fall in love with a soul, with one,

despite a belief that it's possible.

To fall in love with the eyes that smile,

the messages, none other to encourage.

The comically wild trains of thought,

the provoking remarks to perplex.

To fall in love with the friend, your best,

the companionship none can compare.

The quirks, the laughs, excitement, the drama,

the connection much deeper than words.

To fall in love with one, with me,

despite a belief that it's happening.

Harmony

When the power of love,

overcomes the love of power,

the world will know peace.

One

Inescapably deduced through an expression of love,

one's song, one's dream, one's whisper.
Proven, a name for the world's neglect,
nay a purpose in life much crisper.

Consuming; a feeling to fill you up,

like roots digging into your skin,
like a fire, the wind, like the sea and the waves,

swelling up, a scorching within.

An answer to prayer so fervently offered,

replete, with joy at it's sway.
Vacant of thee for as long as time's passed,

so abstruse, yet forever allay.

Flambeau

To cherish a candle, where love is the flame,

a fire that burns, through the wind, the rain.

A heart effulgent, truly benign,

two worlds collide, amiably entwined.

An entire soul, not one bit restrained,

how, with mere words, can a heart be explainined?
A taste of heaven so deep, so true,

a taste of heaven, encountered in you.

Countless reasons in copious ways,

confounded, speechless, a heart full of praise.

Stand

Be soft. Don't let the world make you hard. Don't let the pain make you hate.
Don't let the bitterness steal your joy. Take pride in knowing that even though the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.

Fervent Infatuation

Far from mere affection,

ones ultimate good is steadily longed for,

oh, as far as it can be obtained.

Callow comprehensions invite false interpretations,

contriving for opportunities past the prosaic.

Authorisation to courageously dare,

follows a search for a more tangible appreciation.

Throwing herself into the fight,

yet to have been knocked over.

Within the midst of a magnificent hurricane,

yet to be swept off the ground.

Seeking new chords,

new ways to speak a name.

Desiring to discover her semblant significance,

simply waiting to be romanced.
